Psalm 105:1-6

New International Version

Psalm 105^(A)

¹Give praise to the Lord,^(B) proclaim his name;^(C)
    make known among the nations what he has done.
²Sing to him,^(D) sing praise to him;^(E)
    tell of all his wonderful acts.^(F)
³Glory in his holy name;^(G)
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
⁴Look to the Lord and his strength;
    seek his face^(H) always.

⁵Remember the wonders^(I) he has done,
his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,^(J)
⁶you his servants, the descendants of Abraham,^(K)
his chosen^(L) ones, the children of Jacob.

    and destroyed all their supplies of food;
¹⁷and he sent a man before them—
    Joseph, sold as a slave.^(B)

²⁰The king sent and released him,

Jacob had twelve sons:

Reuben the firstborn^(D) of Jacob,

Simeon, Levi, Judah,^(E) Issachar and Zebulun.^(F)

²⁴The sons of Rachel:

Joseph^(G) and Benjamin.^(H)

²⁵The sons of Rachel’s servant Bilhah:^(I)

Acts 17:10-15

In Berea

¹⁰As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas^(A) away to Berea.^(B) On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue.^(C) ¹¹Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica,^(D) for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures^(E) every day to see if what Paul said was true.^(F) ¹²As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.^(G)

¹³But when the Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea,^(H) some of them went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up. ¹⁴The believers^(I) immediately sent Paul to the coast, but Silas^(J) and Timothy^(K) stayed at Berea. ¹⁵Those who escorted Paul brought him to Athens^(L) and then left with instructions for Silas and Timothy to join him as soon as possible.^(M)
